Where is Into the Burren?

'Into the Burren' is a family business located by Fanore Beach, mid-way on the Wild Atlantic Way,  and in the heart of the Burren.

We are just off the  R477 one of Irelands most spectacular drives.

What facilities and areas of the property do we have use of?

Currently we feel that it is safer for you to be the only guests here – there will be no shared areas.

You will have your own entrance and front door. Your accommodation is upstairs in our newly renovated studio loft(s). Here there is a lobby area for a tea, coffee or glass of wine.

You will also have exclusive use of what we call the Hub with a full kitchen and chill out/dining room area and of the outside space with BBQ, Firewok and outdoor furniture.

We live downstairs with our own entrance. We will of course respect your wishes around privacy.

Is Breakfast included?

Yes, breakfast is included. It is  healthy continental style - cereals, porridge, bread, tea, coffee, juice, jams and fruit etc. Of course if you want to cook your own breakfast you will have the full use of the kitchen to do this.

Are there any animals at Into the Burren?

In our field next door we have 3 sheep, Sunshine, Blue & Belle, 2 Falabella horse (one of the smallest breeds of horses in the world) Alfie & Benny and our donkey Grainne. Guests are welcome to feed them – just ask and we can organise a safe way to do this.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

We understand your concern around Covid-19 and so in the event of Government Guidelines preventing you from travelling here we would first offer you a booking for a later date with a 10% discount. Should this not work for you we would offer you a full refund of all monies paid.

Should you wish to cancel for any other reason we will firstly try to offer you alternative dates. If this is not possible and you cancel up to 2 weeks before arrival and you will receive a full refund less administrative charges of €50.00 or up to 3 days before arrival 50% refund of monies paid less administrative charges of €50.00.

Should you cancel any time after this any refund is at our discretion.

What precautions have you taken during the COVID-19 pandemic?

‘Into the Burren’ has been awarded the Fáilte Ireland COVID-19 Safety Charter. This
demonstrates we are operating in line with current Government public health advice and with
safety and cleaning protocols in place.
For your privacy and security we have fenced off the property so that you will now have a
totally private entrance and you will be our only guests. There are no shared areas.
Because of the very strict requirements around Covid 19 we now have numerous sanitising
units, signage, key box, cleaning agents & equipment available for our guests. We have

How far are you from the Beach and the Cliffs of Moher?

Fanore’s Blue Flag beach is a 3 minute drive from ‘Into the Burren’. During the summer months the beach is patrolled by the lifeguard service making it a great place to learn to surf or enjoy the waves.

'Into the Burren' is a little over a half an hour’s drive to the Cliffs of Moher along the coast road.

Are you on the Burren Way Route and are there Cycling routes near you?

Yes , we are on the Burren Way route which includes walking on green roads, old cattle drives and the limestone pavement.

There are four cycle routes with varying distances from 18km to 47km. Each cycle offers wonderful views of the local countryside with stunning coastal panoramas. There are numerous stop-off points along the way with excellent restaurants, pubs and other facilities and services

What about Dark Skies?

There is an absolute minimum of light pollution here so that on a clear night the skies are awesome!

How close are you to the local pub & shop?

Our local pub - O’Donohues’s and grocery shop - Siopa Fanore are 5 mins drive away and right beside each other!

Distances to/from Into the Burren

Galway City is a little over on hour along the coast road.

Shannon Airport taking the M18 and exiting at Ennis it is approx. 1hour 15mins.

Dublin City taking the M4, branching off to the M6 and then the M18 - it’s a little less than 3 hours’ drive.
